Rosslyn ‘Ros’ James

Hi it’s Kathrine here. Just taking a few moments time out from writing to pop in here and write up a post.

I thought that readers of the Tempest Beach series might like to know the origin of the names of the two main characters in the first two books.

Russell was chosen as it was the name that my father went by throughout his life (it was his middle name. The James also comes from him as it was his first name) and Rosslyn was chosen as it was my mother’s name (which co-incidentally was also her middle name).

The Tempest Beach books one and two were my very first books that I published and I wanted to honor my parents in some way.

I wanted to honor them and their life together. They were married for 65 years and when my mother became too ill to live at home and had to go into assisted living, my father ended up following her there so that they could be together. Unfortunately they were only reunited for three weeks before my mother died. My father seemed to give up after that and followed her exactly four months later. They were very close.

So that is where Ros and Mac’s name came from.
